11 Year Old Shot Overnight Walking, Police Seek Info
On November 22, 2020 approximately 12:30 AM Gary Police were dispatched to the 700 block of Pierce Street for shots fired with a possible gunshot victim, according to Lt. Dawn Westerfield.
Upon arrival they discovered a juvenile male (11-years-old from Gary) with a gunshot wound, Westerfield said. A juvenile female (16-year-old from Goshen) was also on scene with no injuries, but was found to be a runaway.
The juveniles stated they were walking in the area of 7th Avenue and Fillmore Street when they heard gunshots and then the 11-year-old stated he was shot.
