5 Arrested Saturday During Disturbance At “Up Your Alley” In Schererville
On February 8, 2025 at approximately 9:24 PM, two Schererville Police Officers working an extra duty assignment at 1048 US 41 (Up Your Alley), were alerted of a disturbance inside the establishment, according to Schererville Police.
Officers were advised that the entire party involved had to leave due to their behavior and threats made to the staff. Officers spoke with the subjects involved advising them multiple times that they needed to keep their voices down and leave the establishment, which a majority of the party refused to do. Officers on scene then called for additional police units to assist.
As officers were attempting to take one of the subjects involved into custody, the entire crowd began surrounding the officers on scene. At this time, multiple subjects from the party began actively fighting with the officers on scene. During the struggle, one subject was ultimately tased and one officer suffered minor injuries. A couch valued at $800 was also destroyed.
One of the female subjects during the incident stated she was a Chicago Police Officer and pregnant. The female threatened the officers job while striking him with her fists. She was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital to be evaluated since she stated she was pregnant. Officers then checked a database to confirm her statement of being a law enforcement officer. Those results showed she was not an officer in Chicago.
In all, five subjects were arrested during this incident, police said.
The Schererville Police Department thanked all the surrounding police department’s that assisted in this incident.
The Schererville Detective Bureau presented charges on all five subjects involved and the following charges were accepted by the Lake County Prosecutor’s Office.
