4 Year Old Portage Girl Stabbed In Griffith
On July 8, 2020 at approximatley 7:33pm, Griffith officers responded to the 1400 block of North Glenwood Street reference to a child that was stabbed with a knife, according to Detective Sibley of The Griffith Police.
On arrival officers located a 4 year old victim from Portage, IN who was visiting family, Sibley stated.
The victim was transported to Community Hospital and then later flown to a Chicago hospital for further treatment around 9:30pm Wednesday. The victim’s injuries are not suspected to be life threatening, Sibley said.
The cause of the injuries do not appear intentional, however, due to reckless behavior a 19 year old Griffith man was taken into custody pending charges.
