65 Year Old Gary Man Found Shot To Death
On June 1, 2024 Gary Police Department received a call for service reference a possible gunshot victim in 4100 block of W. 23rd Ave. in Gary, according to Gary Police.
Gary Police Department arrived on scene and located a male subject down near a vehicle outside of his residence.
This male was later identified as Pen Standifer, 65, of Gary who resided at the residence.
The male had sustained several gunshot wounds and Gary Fire Department medics began lifesaving measures to revive the male victim. He was transported to Northlake Methodist Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Gary Police Department secured the crime scene and notified Lake County Prosecutors Homicide Task Force, Lake County Crime Lab and Lake County Coroner’s Office.
