
66 Year Old Killed In Lansing Walmart Parking Lot Homicide
UPDATE – Lansing Police Officers located Victoria L. Olson, age 66 of Thornton, IL with multiple gunshot wounds found at the scene. Her death was ruled a homicide by the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
During the course of the investigation, the Lansing Criminal Investigations Division, along with the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force, Will County Sheriff’s Office, and the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Unit gathered evidence and witness statements.
After the case was presented to the Cook County State’s Attorney Office, 1st Degree Murder charges were filed against Adebowale A. Oyelekan, age 40, of Lansing, IL.

On Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 1:45 P.M., the Lansing Police Department responded to
Walmart, 17625 Torrence Avenue for a report of shots fired, according to Lansing Police.
Lansing Police Officers located a 66-year old
female gunshot victim in the parking lot. Medical care was initiated and the victim was later pronounced deceased at an area hospital. The identity of the deceased woman has not been released.

There is no reason to believe any further danger to the public exists in relation
to this incident, police stated.
At this time, the investigation is ongoing. The incident is being actively investigated by the Lansing Police Department, the South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force (SSMCTF), and Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigators (CSI).
