Free NARCAN Kit & Training Monday At Sheriff Building
Lake County Sheriff Oscar Martinez is pleased to announce the Lake County Sheriff’s Department Police Assisted Recovery Initiative (P.A.R.I.+) has received a grant allowing it to distribute a potentially life-saving medication to treat opioid overdoses, the Sheriff released Friday.
The recent receipt of the Overdose Lifeline, Inc. grant allows our program to become a NARCAN distributor.
On Monday, May 10th, we will provide free training and kits. Interested individuals may visit the:

Monday May 10, 2021 – 10 a.m. until 12 p.m.
Training takes about 5 minutes and you can remain anonymous.
The Naloxone grant comes in time for SAMHSA’s National Prevention, which begins on Sunday, May 9th. The Lake County Sheriff’s Department’s P.A.R.I.+ program will be participating in National Prevention Week by hosting trainings and providing information in coordination with this year’s themes:
Monday, May 10th – Preventing opioid misuse
Tuesday, May 11th – Preventing underage drinking and alcohol misuse
Wednesday, May 12th – Preventing youth marijuana use
Thursday, May 13th – Preventing youth tobacco use
Friday, May 14th – Preventing suicide
On Friday, May 14th, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. P.A.R.I.+ will be hosting a free QPR (Question, Persuade, and Refer) Training. This suicide prevention training will teach you to recognize crisis and warning signs that a person may be contemplating suicide. If you’re interested in attending this training, please visit the Lake County Training and Media Center located in Room A-099 at 1:00 p.m.
Tuesday through Thursday, check out the Lake County Sheriff’s Department’s app and click on the P.A.R.I. icon for daily information and resources on prevention of underage drinking and alcohol misuse, youth marijuana use, and preventing youth tobacco use, the Sheriff said.
