Hammond Police Investigating Homicide
On May 26th, at approximately 12:15 a.m., Hammond police were informed that a male subject was believed to be shot at the intersection of 106th St. and Indianapolis Blvd, according to Lt. Steve Kellogg.
The male subject was identified as 26-year-old Asael Wilson from Chicago. Mr. Wilson was riding his bike along Stateline Ave. when a vehicle pulled up near him and fired several shots striking him once. Mr. Wilson made it into the McDonalds located just over state line and called an ambulance, Kellogg said.
Mr. Wilson was transported to the University of Chicago Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The investigation is on-going.
