Hammond Police Investigating Afternoon Shooting
Around 4 PM Wednesday Hammond Police were investigating a shooting that took place on the 900 block of 170th, according to Lt. Steve Kellogg.
Officers arrived and located a 20-year-old male from Hammond who have been shot in the buttocks. A 24-year-old male from Indianapolis was also grazed by a bullet on his waist.
Police could be seen taping off the intersection of 170th & Tapper where over 30 evidence markers marked casings across the intersection. A witness that was nearby said he heard over 30 shots fired from what appeared to be a dark Monte Carlo. One house also had damage from the gunfire as well.
