4 Vehicle Crash On Indianapolis Thursday Morning
On Thursday, September 2nd, at approximately 6:20 a.m., Hammond police responded to a call of an accident at the intersection of 169th and Indianapolis Blvd according to Lt. Steve Kellogg of The Hammond Police.
Witnesses state that a vehicle was driving north on Indianapolis Blvd. approaching the stoplight at 169th street. The driver failed to stop for stopped traffic and struck the second vehicle. This caused a four car collision, Kellogg told RNS.
The driver of the striking vehicle was unconscious at the time of the accident and was transported to a Chicago area hospital. Two other drivers were transported to hospitals with complaints of pain. The final driver was not injured.
The crash is still under investigation and no charges have been issued as of noon.
