Lake County Police Seeking Public’s Help With A 2019 Homicide
Investigators in Lake County are asking for the public’s help to find occupants of a car believed to be connected with a 2019 homicide.
Lake County Sheriff Oscar Martinez Jr. says 21-year-old Wanya Burnside was riding in an SUV with family members when someone opened fire, fatally wounding him in the 1300 block of Noble Street in Gary. The incident occurred on November 1, 2019.
The Lake County / Gary Metro Homicide Unit is releasing photos of a 2006-2013 silver Chevy Impala, which may have been used in the homicide.
“Someone in our community may have details that could help bring those responsible for this young man’s death to justice,” said Sheriff Martinez.
