Two South Holland males have been charged in federal court and a juvenile in State Court with robbing more than $1 million from an armored truck and ATM in Lansing on Halloween.
Corrie Singleton, 21, Darrell Singleton, 18, of South Holland, and a juvenile are charged with robbery, bank larceny by assault, and firearm offenses, according to an indictment.
A Brink’s security worker was refilling an ATM at a Chase Bank branch in the 16700 block of Torrence Ave in Lansing the morning of October 31st when the robbery occurred.
The three suspects pulled out handguns, took the guards gun and a bag of money, as well as cash from the ATM, according to the indictment.
The suspects then dragged the courier into the armored truck and demanded she open its compartments and hand over bags of money, court documents said.
It’s estimated the robbers stole $121,824 from the courier and ATM, and another $904,132 from the armored truck.
After the robbery, the thieves fled in a white Dodge Charger while being pursued by police. The robbers then crashed into another car near a ramp to I-80 & Torrence and fled on foot.
Corrie Singleton and the juvenile were arrested and most of the stolen money was recovered from the vehicle. A warrant has been issued for Darrell Singleton who is still on the run.
