Munster Police Investigating Walgreens Robbery
Around 7 PM, Tuesday, Munster Police responded to Walgreens for a reported robbery, according to Munster Police Chief Steve Scheckel.
A younger black male, approximately 5’7” to 5’ 8” tall, thin build, wearing a surgical type of mask jumped over the counter then shoved the cashier before taking some money and fleeing on foot. The cashier was not injured but visibly shaken up. A Griffith K9 was brought into the area where the witnesses saw the suspect flee to track but were unsuccessful in locating the suspect. It’s believed he may have got into a waiting vehicle just north of Fisher.
There were no injuries reported and Munster Detectives are investigating. No further information was made available. Anyone with information is asked to call the Munster Police Department at 219-836-6658.
