Female Drowns In Hobart Lake Sunday

Hobart Police & Fire responded to a possible drowning at Robinson Lake in Hobart Sunday around 1 PM.

On arrival rescue crews were told an adult female went under after struggling and bystanders could not find her. It’s believed a couple was possibly on a float / raft when it flipped in a deeper portion of the lake. A witness on scene told RNS she heard people struggling in the water and then people nearby grabbed a guy out who told them his girlfriend is still under.

Around 2:48 PM a female victim was located and a recovery was made.

The Lake County Coroner has identified the victim as Ladakh Farley, 30 of Gary & Unborn Male child approximately 7.5 months’ gestation. The death was ruled an accidental drowning.

On scene assisting is Hobart Police & Fire, Crown Point Fire, Merrillville Fire, Cedar Lake Fire, Lake Hills Fire, Lake County Dive Team, Lake County Aviation, and Indiana Conservation Officers.
