Teen Hit On Bike In Munster Released
On Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at approximately 1:30 PM, Munster Police officers responded to White Oak Avenue and Ridge Road for a bicyclist versus vehicle accident, according to Munster Police.
Upon arrival, officers located a 14-year-old male on ground with head injuries. The juvenile was transported to a local emergency room and treated for his injuries.
Witnesses reported that the bicyclist crossed northbound through the intersection on a red light and was struck by a white Pontiac Torrent which was traveling westbound on Ridge Road.
The Northwest Indiana Crash Team responded to the incident and is investigating the accident.
The bicyclist was later released from the hospital with concussion protocols. At this time the accident remains under investigation.
