Gary Police Make Arrest In Miller Burglaries
On September 18, the Gary Police charged a 29-year-old Jordan O’Neil Ivy of Gary with one count of burglary and one count of theft.
Ivey is suspected of the September 16 burglary of a Airbnb Rental located in Gary’s Miller area. The police officers that arrived at the home located in the 1200 block of Wayne St. they for the burglary report were able to “ping” a 2022 Chevrolet Traverse that was also stolen from the location by using their Flock camera system, according to Gary Police.
Officers aware of the vehicle theft contacted ON-Star vehicle tracking and located the Traverse in Gary’s Glen Park area in the 1000 block of E. 35th Place. While the officers were identifying the owners of cars parked at the location a black Dodge Avenger was stopped and the registered owner’s address was the same as the location of the Chevy Traverse. The officers observed various items they believed to be stolen in the vehicle and also observed keys to the Chevy Traverse.
The driver of the Dodge Avenger was identified as Jordan O’Neil Ivy and a car belonging to a Jordan O’Neil Ivy was parked at the same location as the Chevy Traverse. Mr. Ivy was taken into police custody. This case was investigated by Sgt. Jervean Gates.
