Two Killed In Home Early Monday Morning In Calumet City
Two people were killed early Monday morning at a house in Calumet City, according to The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Calumet City Police were called around 1 AM for shots fired in the 1200 block of Hirsch, according to radio traffic.
While officers were enroute to the area a man flagged down an officer on Burnham saying they were shooting inside a residence. On arrival police found a woman shot multiple times inside and another male shot once, both were deceased from their injuries. A Cook County Medical Examiner report stated the woman was shot multiple times along with sharp force injuries.
The victims were identified as 53-year-old Corrine Mirelez and 45-year-old Eduardo Chavez. Both deaths have been ruled homicides.
Calumet City Police were not available for comment on this incident. It is believed someone had come to the home and knocked on the door before shots rang out.
