Hammond Police Respond To Murder-Suicide Scene
In the early hours of January 29th, at approximately 2:00 AM, the Hammond Police Department responded to a call reporting shots fired in the area of the 500 block of Michigan. The caller reported hearing gunfire, according to Hammond Police.
Upon arrival, officers made entry into the premises and revealed the aftermath of the incident, with a deceased male identified as the suspect found in the hallway, and a deceased female, the victim, located inside a bedroom.
The affected area was secured off as a crime scene, with the Hammond Police Department’s Evidence Technician processing the area for forensic evidence. Detectives were notified and arrived to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding this unfortunate incident.
The deceased identities have not been released by The Lake County Coroner.
