Homicide Investigation In Gary
On October 11, 2024, at approximately 6 PM Investigators were in the area of 2300 Clay Street, in Gary, searching for a possible missing person, according to Gary Police.
Investigators were operating a drone to search an area that was off the roadway when they discovered what appeared to be a deceased male approximately 15 feet off the roadway.
Officers went into the area on foot and discovered a deceased male.
Investigators from the Lake County Prosecutor Homicide Task Force along with Gary Police Department Patrol Division and Investigative Division secured the crime scene and notified the Lake County Corners office, as well as Lake County Sheriffs Department CSI.
The body was removed and later identified as Jimmijion T. Bailey, a 25 year old male from Gary, who was reported as a missing person on October 06, 2024. The Lake County Coroner has ruled the death a homicide.
