Civilian Search Party Locates Deceased Missing Woman

On December 26, 2024 at approximately 10:39 AM, Lake Station Police Officers were dispatched to the area of 2100 Clay Street in reference to a death investigation, according to Lake Station Police.

Officers were advised upon arrival that a privately operated search party organized by the family of missing person, Jamie Vlamos, had located a deceased female individual on the east side of Clay Street an hour into the search. Friends and family of Jamie Vlamos told RNS, on December 18th Jamie was missing from this exact area where the body was discovered today, near Palmers Paving. Family went on to say Jamie and her car were located on private property by the owner on the night of the 18th. During the encounter Jamie had fled on foot north. Gary Police were called by the owner and impounded the vehicle that was on the property belonging to Jamie but there was no sign of Jamie. It’s since been learned that same night some time prior to that encounter her car was believed to be involved in a hit & run in Porter County.
