Drug Investigation Leads to Multiple Arrests & Felony Charges In Hobart
On February 11, 2025, Hobart Police Narcotics Unit investigators served search warrants in the 0 block of East 3rd Street and the 1300 block of West 37th Avenue in Hobart as part of an ongoing narcotics trafficking investigation, according to a Hobart press release.
Investigators learned of an individual dealing various quantities of cocaine in Hobart and through their investigation, additional individuals were identified linked to the drug trafficking. During their investigation, investigators seized quantities of cocaine, methamphetamine, and a firearm.
The following individuals were charged in Lake County Superior Court:
Richard Morris (40 years old) of Hobart
- One count of Dealing Cocaine, a Level 2 Felony
- Two counts of Dealing Cocaine with a Prior Conviction, a Level 4 Felony
- Two counts of Dealing Cocaine, a Level 5 Felony
- One count of Possession of Methamphetamine with a Prior Conviction, a Level 5 Felony
- One count of Possession of Methamphetamine, a Level 6 Felony
- One count of Maintaining a Common Nuisance, a Level 6 Felony
- One count of Possession of Paraphernalia, a Class C Misdemeanor
Joshua Harris (35 years old) of Hobart
- One count of Dealing Cocaine, a Level 2 Felony
- One count of Dealing Cocaine, a Level 5 Felony
- One count of Possession of Methamphetamine, a Level 6 Felony
- One count of Maintaining a Common Nuisance, a Level 6 Felony
- One count of Possession of Paraphernalia, a Class C Misdemeanor
Kimberly Morris (61 years old) of Hobart
- One count of Maintaining a Common Nuisance, a Level 6 Felony
Ricky Burns (70 years old) of Hobart
- Possession of Cocaine, a Level 4 Felony
- Two counts of Dealing Cocaine, a Level 5 Felony
- One count of Possession of Cocaine, a Level 5 Felony
- One count of Possession of Cocaine, a Level 6 Felony
- One count of Possession of Marijuana, a Class B Misdemeanor
- Two counts of Possession of Paraphernalia, a Class C Misdemeanor
The investigation continues and more charges may be forthcoming, police said.
