Kentucky Murder Suspect Found By State Police Near Merrillville This Morning
A man was arrested early Wednesday morning after police say he killed his ex-girlfriend at the Oldham County Health Department in Kentucky, according to a press release.
On Tuesday, about 7:45 PM, the La Grange Kentucky Police Department and Oldham County Kentucky Police Department responded to an assault at the Oldham County Health Department located at 1786 Commerce Parkway, in La Grange, Kentucky, according to a news release.
Officers on scene found the victim, 33-year-old Katherine Andrea Homez Gomez, dead at the scene from multiple lacerations.
Police identified 32-year-old Oscar David Torres Alvarez, the victim’s former boyfriend, as a suspect.
Torres Alvarez was found in his vehicle by Indiana State Police on Wednesday at 2 AM, near Merrillville, Indiana driving north on I-65. A felony stop was executed on 30 with the assistance of Merrillville Police. A child was in the car as well with Torres. The child was not injured.
Torres Alvarez was arrested pending extradition back to Kentucky.
