
U.S. Marshals Arrest Gary Man
An ATF Task Force Officer was assigned the duty of investigating a reported felon in possession of a handgun, intimidation, and resisting law enforcement this week.
On April 25, 2025, at approximately 1:05 PM, the Great Lakes Regional Task Force with the US Marshall’s Office conducted an investigation that led them to a residence in the 1400 block of W. 15th Avenue in Gary.
According to court documents, the residence was believed to be the location of a wanted subject named Domonique A. Camacho.
While the police were conducting surveillance outside the residence, the officers observed Camacho running towards an officer’s vehicle. As Camacho ran directly toward the officer’s position, Camacho looked directly at the officer and then ran in a different direction. During the ensuing foot pursuit, Camacho drew a handgun from his pants and threw the gun into the air. With the assistance of another police officer, Camacho was overtaken and brought to the ground.
According to court documents, Domonique Camacho was given multiple verbal commands to stop resisting. He tried to pull away from officers while they tried to put him in wrist restraints. While dealing with Camacho, he stated to officers: “I’ll beat your a**”, “I would have shot you,” and “I hope something bad happens to your kids.”
The firearm was located and identified to be a loaded Glock .40 caliber handgun. A computer check of the firearm revealed that it had been reported stolen.
A computerized check of the criminal history and court records of Domonique Arrion Camacho revealed that, on 09-14-2016, in the US District Court in Omaha, Nebraska, he was convicted of Unlawful Transport of Firearms, a felony, and sentenced to 15 months prison time and 24 months supervised release.
On May 1, 2025, Domonique A. Camacho was charged with:
Unlawful Carrying of a Handgun – prior felony conviction with in the last 15 years: F5 Felony
Intimidation: F6 Felony
Resisting Law Enforcement: Class A Misdemeanor
