Two Men Killed in Hammond Shooting; Investigation Ongoing
Two men were found dead early Sunday morning at a residence on Michigan Street in Hammond, following a reported shooting.
One of the victims has been identified as Gary J. Shanklin, a 23-year-old man from East Chicago, Indiana, according to the Lake County Coroner. The second victim has not yet been identified pending family notification.
Preliminary autopsy results indicate both men died from gunshot wounds, and their deaths are being investigated as homicides.
The Hammond Police Department is leading the investigation. No additional details have been released at this time.
