Fatal Crash Sunday Morning In Union Township
Sunday morning at approximately 7:05 a.m., Porter County Sheriff’s Officers were dispatched to a report of a single vehicle crash with injuries, the vehicle had struck a building near the intersection of SR 130 / Park Avenue in Union Township.
Units arrived to find a 1994 Nissan Altima and both driver and passenger had to be extricated. The male driver was flown to the University of Chicago for his injuries and the female passenger had tragically passed away as a result of the crash.
Initial investigation shows, the vehicle is believed to have been traveling westbound on State Road 130, when for an unknown reason, it went off the roadway and struck a building at the intersection with Park Avenue.
Porter County Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating. No further information was available.
