Medical Emergency Believed To Be Cause Of Crash Tuesday In Schererville
On Tuesday May 20th, 2025, at approximately 5:24 PM, Schererville Police and Fire were dispatched to 1000 W US 30 in regards to a vehicle that had just crashed into a building. The building that was struck was Grimmer’s Service Inc., which was closed at the time.
Preliminary investigation indicates that a male subject was driving a 2011 Nissan westbound on US 30 when he crashed into the business. The driver of the vehicle was transported to a local hospital. No other injuries were reported.
The South Lake County Crash Reconstruction Team was called out and told RNS the driver is believed to have had a medical emergency causing the crash. The driver was hospitalized with non life threatening injuries.
