
Gary Woman Charged in Stabbing of Mother and Child During Neighborhood Dispute
According to court documents, a Gary woman has been charged following a stabbing that injured two individuals on April 12, 2025.
At approximately 7:40 p.m., Gary police responded to a reported stabbing in the 2700 block of W. 7th Place Ct.
According to court documents, the incident began when a woman was attempting to break up a fight involving her daughter’s friend and several juveniles. During the disturbance, the woman observed a female subject approach and told her not to run up on the juveniles anymore. A physical altercation followed, during which the woman reported that she felt the female subject stab her. Her 8-year-old daughter attempted to help and was also stabbed.
Both were transported by ambulance to Methodist Hospital Northlake. The adult victim was later transferred to a hospital in Chicago for further treatment.
Photographs and medical documentation were collected as part of the investigation. A photo lineup was conducted, and Tsujinannie Star Hills was identified as the suspect.
Hills was charged on May 21, 2025, in Lake Superior Court with:
- Battery by Means of a Deadly Weapon – Level 5 Felony (2 counts)
- Battery Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury – Level 5 Felony
- Battery Resulting in Bodily Injury to a Person Under 14, Defendant at Least 18 – Level 5 Felony
On May 23, 2025, Hills was lodged in the Lake County Jail.
