
Two Illinois Residents Charged After Early Morning Pursuit in Hammond
Two individuals from Illinois are facing felony drug and resisting charges in Lake County following a police pursuit and drug recovery in Hammond.
According to court documents, around 1:24 a.m. on June 20, 2025, Hammond police attempted to stop a silver Honda Civic matching the description of a vehicle wanted in connection with a felony fleeing case out of Forest Park, Illinois. The driver failed to stop, and a pursuit ensued through the city.
The chase continued until officers deployed stop sticks near 165th Street and Calumet Avenue. The vehicle struck the stop sticks, which successfully deflated multiple tires. The vehicle was ultimately boxed in near the westbound ramp to I-80/94. The driver, identified as Lluvia Marisol Luna, 23, of Des Plaines, and passenger Jeffery Scott Morgan, 39, of Chicago, were taken into custody without incident.
During a search of the vehicle, officers recovered two pills that tested positive for methamphetamine. They also recovered a bag labeled as marijuana gummies and six separate bags of marijuana flower totaling over 45 grams.
Both Luna and Morgan are currently lodged in the Lake County Jail.
