
Valparaiso Man Charged in Two Separate Sexual Battery Incidents
Jaidon Nathaniel Edge, 25, of Valparaiso, has been charged in two separate incidents involving sexual battery and public nudity.
According to court documents, the first incident occurred on May 13, 2025, at approximately 12:45 a.m. Edge approached a victim at 704 McCord Road and pressed his bare penis in a thrust-like motion against the victim’s buttocks. During a police interview, Edge said he did not know the victim, described it as a moment of opportunity, and stated he had no intention to gain sexual gratification from the victim. The victim turned and observed Edge’s exposed genitalia before Edge fled the area.
Charges for May 13, 2025:
- Sexual Battery – Level 6 Felony
- Public Nudity – Class B Misdemeanor
According to court documents, the second incident occurred on May 14, 2025, at approximately 9:45 p.m. Edge approached another victim in the parking lot of Strack and Van Til at 2800 N. Calumet Avenue. He pressed his penis against the victim’s buttocks in a thrust-like motion. Edge told police he did not know the victim was a juvenile, referred to the act as a moment of opportunity, and stated he had no intention to gain sexual gratification from the victim. Afterward, he walked away, turned to face the victim, and pulled down his shorts, exposing his genitals. Surveillance footage reportedly captured the exposure.
Charges for May 14, 2025:
- Sexual Battery – Level 6 Felony
- Public Nudity – Class B Misdemeanor
According to court documents, Edge was identified by police through surveillance footage, physical description, and his own admissions. Edge was lodged in the Porter County Jail on June 16, 2025.
