Cedar Lake Woman Charged with Stalking and Battery Despite No Contact Order
June Ellen Coppage of Cedar Lake has been charged with multiple offenses after allegedly violating a no contact order and physically assaulting a neighbor on June 22, 2025.
According to court documents, Cedar Lake police responded to a disturbance in the 9000 block of West 133rd Place. Officers were informed that Coppage, 63, had punched the reporting party in the head and that a no contact order was in place prohibiting her from contacting the individual.
Officers confirmed the no contact order was active and had been issued on September 12, 2023, in connection with a previous intimidation case.
The tow company received a call from Coppage “to remove three vehicles parked illegally in the trailer park,” though none were found to be in violation. A tow truck driver stated he witnessed Coppage approach the reporting party and strike her. The victim reportedly did not retaliate but pushed Coppage away in response. Another witness also confirmed the incident and stated she had a no contact order against Coppage as well.
Coppage was located in the area, taken into custody, and transported to the Lake County Jail.
She is currently lodged in the Lake County Jail.
