Illinois State Police Investigate Double Fatal Motorcycle Crash on IL-394
Illinois State Police are investigating a tragic motorcycle crash that claimed the lives of two Indiana residents late Friday night.
At approximately 9:51 PM on June 27, ISP responded to a two-vehicle crash on Illinois Route 394, just north of Glenwood-Dyer Road. According to preliminary findings, two motorcycles were traveling northbound when the motorcycle driven by a male rider struck the rear of a second motorcycle operated by a female rider.
The collision caused both motorcycles to crash. The female rider was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the male rider was transported to Franciscan Hospital in Munster, where he later died from his injuries.
The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the female victim as Sarah Gudeman, 24, of Michigan City and the male victim as Justin Fasnacht, 22, of Crown Point.
The roadway remained closed for several hours during the investigation and reopened around 3:00 AM Saturday.
Illinois State Police stated the investigation is ongoing and no additional information is available at this time.
