Woman Charged After Allegedly Pulling Gun in Dispute Over Chair at Hammond Tint Shop

A Hammond woman is facing a felony charge following an incident in which she allegedly pulled a handgun during an argument at a local tint shop.

According to court documents, Marveline Onita Wright-Hunt was identified as the woman involved in a confrontation at Mr. Tintz, an automobile window tinting business located in the 6800 block of Indianapolis Boulevard in Hammond, on the morning of July 5, 2025.

A witness told investigators that while he and other customers were waiting outside in very hot weather for their vehicle windows to be tinted, he sat in a chair next to an unknown woman. An argument broke out after the woman complained that his chair was too close to hers. As the exchange escalated, she allegedly pulled a handgun from her purse. The man retreated into the business to get away, but the woman, later identified as Wright-Hunt, reportedly followed him inside while holding the firearm. He then exited to the side of the building, and she continued to follow, still armed. The man stated he was in fear for his safety and did not consent to the encounter.

Responding officers from the Hammond Police Department recovered a loaded pink and black Glock 19 9mm handgun from Wright-Hunt at the scene. Surveillance footage reviewed by detectives reportedly supported the witness’s account of events.

Charge filed on July 7, 2025:

    •    Intimidation — Defendant draws or uses a deadly weapon (Level 5 Felony)

Wright-Hunt is currently lodged in the Lake County Jail.
