Hobart Residents Arrested After Police Seize Drugs, Gun, and Cash
Two Hobart residents are facing felony charges after police executed a search warrant at a home near the 100 block of North Union Street, where they discovered a large quantity of methamphetamine, a loaded gun, and other drug-related items.

Emma Nicole Lewandowski, 25, and Tyler James Sweet, 24, were formally charged on July 14, 2025, following a March 12 search by Hobart police. Officers recovered over 40 grams of methamphetamine, multiple digital scales, a loaded handgun, marijuana grinders, smoking devices, a drug ledger, and $1,293 in cash.
Both Lewandowski and Sweet waived their Miranda rights during interviews with investigators. Lewandowski admitted she uses marijuana and methamphetamine and said she also sells meth. Sweet also acknowledged using both substances and told police he sells meth “to make a little extra money.” He added that the handgun found in the residence belonged to him and that he and Lewandowski had traveled to Chicago the day before to “re‑up.”
According to police, Lewandowski said she saw officers approaching the house on her surveillance camera and hid a bag containing about 20 grams of meth and a digital scale in a closet. During a second search of the residence, officers located a Ziplock-style bag in the closet containing a digital scale and approximately 42.5 grams of methamphetamine, which field tested positive for methamphetamine.
