Armed Robbery Call Leads to Drug Bust at Valparaiso Apartment
A Valparaiso man is facing multiple felony charges after police uncovered a significant quantity of narcotics during an armed robbery investigation at his apartment.
Kyle Matthew Pak, 24, of the 2200 block of LaPorte Avenue in Valparaiso, was formally charged on July 14, 2025. The charges stem from a September 19, 2024, incident in which Pak contacted Porter County Dispatch to report an armed robbery at his residence.
According to court documents, when officers arrived, they discovered what they described as a large amount of drug materials, paraphernalia, and packaging in an upstairs room identified as an office. Items seized included 24.77 grams of methamphetamine, 119 grams of marijuana, and 399 grams of THC-infused edibles and wax products.
Authorities also recovered dozens of THC vape cartridges, glass smoking devices, grinders, and packaging labeled with well-known cannabis brand names. Many items were found in dresser drawers, a closet, a refrigerator, and a safe inside the apartment.
According to court documents, a forensic search of Pak’s two phones revealed numerous conversations, images, and notes referencing drug sales, pricing, distribution, and customer lists. Investigators said the phones contained evidence of marijuana, THC products, and prescription narcotics being sold in various quantities.
