Gary Man Charged in LaPorte County with Child Solicitation
According to court documents, 29-year-old Dajon M. Holman has been charged in LaPorte County with Level 4 felony child solicitation following an investigation by the Michigan City Police Department.
Investigators allege that Holman initiated contact with a 15-year-old through Facebook, engaged in conversations of a sexual nature, and arranged to meet the minor. The investigation states Holman traveled to an address in Michigan City on May 26, 2023, to pick up the teen.
Court filings indicate investigators reviewed Facebook messages between the two accounts over several months. Holman allegedly solicited sexual activity and offered to have the teen come stay with him. Detectives reported that Holman admitted to picking up the teen but denied sending sexually explicit messages, despite records reviewed by investigators.
The case was sealed until recently. On May 13, 2025, a court order granted his release on his own recognizance in this case. Holman was lodged in the Lake County Jail on August 14, 2025, pending other charges.
