
East Chicago Firefighters Rescue Residents from Early Morning Blaze
East Chicago – In the early hours of Thursday morning, East Chicago Firefighters demonstrated extraordinary courage when they rescued two residents trapped inside a burning building on Indianapolis Boulevard.

At approximately 2:30 a.m., crews from East Chicago were dispatched to a structure fire at 4225 Indianapolis Blvd. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy smoke and flames. Two people were pulled to safety from a second-floor window thanks to the quick action of first responders on scene.
A total of three residents were transported for medical treatment. Two were taken to a local hospital, while a third was transported to a Chicago-area hospital for additional care.

Officials say the firefighters’ rapid response and decisive action likely prevented a tragic outcome.
“This is a powerful reminder of the dedication and courage our first responders show every single day,” a department spokesperson said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
