
Lake Station Man Sentenced to Four Years for Sexual Misconduct
A Lake Station man has been sentenced to four years in the Indiana Department of Correction after pleading guilty to sexual misconduct with a 15-year-old victim, according to a Lake County judge’s order.
Francisco Manuel Silva, 50, entered a guilty plea in June to one count of sexual misconduct with a minor, a Level 5 felony. On September 23, 2025, Judge Salvador Vasquez accepted the plea and imposed the sentence.
Silva was also ordered to comply with a no-contact order prohibiting contact with the victim.
He was remanded into custody on September 23, 2025, for transfer to the Indiana Department of Correction.
The sentencing order states: The defendant is ordered to register as a sex offender for ten (10) years or for life, as determined by law, with the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute pursuant to 11-8-8, within seven (7) days of his release from incarceration.
