Gary Man Arrested in 2022 Shooting
Lake County- Court records show charges were filed against Michael Anthony Jackson, 24, in connection with a 2022 shooting in Gary.
According to court documents, on June 24, 2022, in the late afternoon, a man was in an alley west of the 2200 block of Pennsylvania Street in Gary when a conversation with Jackson turned physical. After exchanging punches, Jackson allegedly opened the door of a sedan he was riding in, grabbed a firearm, and shot him in the face.
The affidavit states Jackson then picked up the shell casing, put it in his pocket, and left the area. After being shot, the man made it to the residence of a woman who called 911.
The man was transported to Methodist Hospital Northlake and then flown to the University of Chicago Hospital, where he was treated for an entry wound to his right cheek, damage to his tongue and multiple teeth, and an exit wound near his chin.
Investigators say the man later identified Michael Anthony Jackson in a photo array as the person responsible for the shooting .
