Gary Man Arrested After Naked Brick-Throwing Incident on Broadway
Gary -A Gary man has been charged after police say he threw bricks through the windows of a building in the 3700 block of Broadway while standing naked in public and then ran from officers into an abandoned property.
According to a probable cause affidavit, on March 24, 2025, around 11:10 a.m., a Lake County Sheriff’s officer sitting at a red light on Broadway and Ridge Road observed a man wearing only a pink sweater, holding a brick, and exposing himself to passing traffic.
Police say the man—later identified as Brandon Vincent Dickey, 29, of Gary—threw the brick through an upstairs window of a building in the 3700 block of Broadway, then picked up another and threw it through a second window as glass fell onto the sidewalk below.
When officers activated their lights and ordered him to stop, Dickey reportedly fled west on Ridge Road, naked, before locking himself inside an abandoned building. Officers forced entry, found him upstairs attempting to change clothes, and placed him under arrest.
Charges filed June 25,2025:
• Resisting Law Enforcement by Fleeing – Class A Misdemeanor
• Criminal Mischief – Class B Misdemeanor
• Public Nudity – Class B Misdemeanor
Lodged in the Lake County Jail on October 4, 2025.
