Calumet City Woman Killed in Crash Saturday Identified
CALUMET CITY — The Lake County Coroner’s Office has identified a woman who died following a motor vehicle crash Saturday in Calumet City.
According to a press release from the Coroner’s Office, 57-year-old Shirley Willis, a resident of Calumet City, Illinois, was pronounced deceased at 12:31 a.m. on October 26, 2025, at Munster Community Hospital.
Officials stated that Willis sustained blunt force injuries as a result of a motor vehicle accident that occurred near Torrence Avenue and the River Oaks Mall Entrance 5 in Calumet City. The Coroner’s Medicolegal Death Investigation team was notified and dispatched to the hospital at approximately 12:47 a.m.
A forensic autopsy is scheduled for Monday, October 27, 2025, at the Lake County Forensic Center in Crown Point, Indiana.
Responding agencies include the Calumet City Police Department, Calumet City Fire Department, and Calumet City EMS.
No further details about the crash have been released at this time.
