Three Charged in Newton County After Reported Sex Toy Theft From Closed Business
Morocco- Three individuals, identified as Matthew Gregory, 21, of Geneva, Illinois; Macale Joseph Majercik, 22, of Westville, Indiana; and Ilyin A. Costello, 21, of Geneva, Illinois, have been charged in Newton County after deputies said they entered a closed business through a rear door and removed several adult items earlier this month.
Deputies were dispatched around 5:58 p.m. on October 14, 2025, to a theft in progress at a business located near 2434 S. U.S. 41 in Morocco. When officers arrived, they found a tan Honda Pilot with Illinois registration parked near Oakland Cemetery, according to court documents. Deputies made contact with one of the suspects seated in the driver’s seat of the vehicle.
Investigators located stolen merchandise in the rear of the vehicle. The stolen items were listed in court filings:

According to court documents, Matthew Gregory told deputies that he saw the shop while driving back to Purdue and wanted to check it out. He said he, Macale Majercik, and Ilyin Costello entered the business twice through a rear door, taking items back to the vehicle each time.

• Criminal Trespass – Class A Misdemeanor
• Theft – Class A Misdemeanor
Each defendant posted a $950 cash bond, according to court records.
