Lake County Jail Inmate Faces Additional Felonies for Jail Communications With Victim

Lake County- A Lake County Jail inmate already facing rape and confinement charges has been accused of contacting the protected victim from jail in violation of a court order.

Investigators say Damian Emmanuel Donaldson, 38, who has been held since October 28, 2025, made multiple phone calls to the woman from jail using his own account, other inmates’ accounts, and through third parties, despite an active protective order.

The court document  states Donaldson made at least 18 calls to the woman after his arrest. Recordings and text messages reviewed by detectives indicated that he had been directing others to help him communicate with her while in custody.

In one recorded call from November 1, 2025, Donaldson could be heard saying he was facing “30 years to life” and yelling for her to “read the charges.”
