Orland Park Man Charged After Pursuit Extends From LaPorte County Into Illinois
An Orland Park man identified in court filings as Yusef Quadri Abdallah was taken into custody after a pursuit that began in Michigan City in LaPorte County and continued through multiple jurisdictions before ending in Illinois on November 21, 2025, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in Lake County. The incident began when a white BMW allegedly fled a traffic stop in LaPorte County, and dispatch later advised the vehicle was traveling westbound on 80/94 after the initial pursuit was terminated.
Court documents indicate the vehicle was later located by Porter County units, which resumed a pursuit before Lake County investigators became aware of the vehicle traveling near Grant Street at what was described as an extremely high rate of speed, appearing to exceed 100 miles per hour, with slowed and stopped traffic present on the roadway.
The vehicle continued fleeing with emergency lights activated behind it and was tracked through combined law enforcement efforts and a helicopter as it crossed into Illinois. The affidavit states the vehicle briefly stopped in the 15600 block of 70th Court in Cook County before the driver exited, re-entered, and continued fleeing.
Court records show the vehicle was then stopped with coordinated assistance from Illinois authorities, including Orland Park Police, and the driver was taken into custody and identified as Yusef Abdallah by an Illinois driver’s license. Investigators reported detecting an odor commonly associated with marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search reportedly located six baggies containing a green leafy substance later weighed at 172.5 grams and field-tested positive for marijuana.
While being transported, Abdallah volunteered statements admitting that he had been involved in the pursuits throughout the day, stating that he was sorry and acknowledging that he should have stopped.
