Charges Filed Against Kentland Man In Alleged Child Solicitation Attempt In Jasper County

RENSSELAER — Jeremy Wilkinson, 47, of Kentland, has been charged after police say he arranged to meet an adult decoy posing as a 13-year-old girl during a sting conducted by Bikers Against Predators, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in Jasper County.

According to the affidavit, the Rensselaer Police Department received a 911 call at about 1:07 a.m. on November 23 from a woman stating she was with Bikers Against Predators and that their decoy had arranged a meeting with a man who believed he was meeting a 13-year-old girl. She reported that they were at a hotel in the 8900 block of West State Road 114 when the man walked away, and the group followed him to a gas station in the 8800 block of West State Road 114.

An officer arrived and spoke with the man, who first provided a false name and birthdate. He was later identified as Jeremy Wilkinson, who the affidavit notes had two active warrants and provided false information due to him knowing he had active warrants.

A member of the civilian group provided screenshots showing the conversation between the adult decoy and Wilkinson. Early in the exchange, the decoy stated he was 13 years old. According to the affidavit, Wilkinson acknowledged the stated age, noted that he “could get in serious trouble,” and continued the conversation in a sexual manner.

Police stated that Wilkinson then agreed to meet at the hotel, and the affidavit reports he was “willingly brought to the hotel with the expectation of meeting with a 13 year old female.” A supervising officer later advised that Wilkinson admitted he came to meet someone he believed was underage and had intentions of engaging in sexual activity.

Charges filed November 25, 2025:

    •    Child Solicitation — Alleged Intent to Engage in Sexual Conduct With a Minor (Level 4 Felony)

    •    False Informing (Class B Misdemeanor)
