SWAT Successfully Negotiates With Subject Holding Child In Highland Home
At approximately 4:45 PM, Tuesday, Highland Police were dispatched to a residence in the 2500 block of Martha Street for a domestic, according to Highland Police.
Upon arrival, officers were met by a female resident who advised her boyfriend and herself were involved in a domestic. She advised the 35 year old male was still inside with a five year old male juvenile. She also advised the male had firearms and had allegedly been threatening her with the firearms. Officers attempted to make contact with the male inside with negative results.
At that time, the Northwest Regional SWAT Team was contacted and responded to the scene. After lengthy attempted negotiations by the SWAT Team, the male ultimately surrendered himself and he was taken into custody. The juvenile was found to be unharmed.
This investigation is still ongoing and charges are pending. No further information can be released at this time, Highland Police stated in a press release.
