Kingsford Heights Man Charged in LaPorte County With Multiple Child Exploitation Offenses
Danny Jo McCullough, 25, of Kingsford Heights, is facing multiple felony charges following a LaPorte Police Department investigation that began as a reported fraud complaint and later escalated into allegations involving child exploitation and child sex abuse material.
According to court documents, the investigation began on November 22, 2025, when LaPorte Police Department officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Lawrence Street after McCullough reported that his social media account had been compromised and used for inappropriate activity. During the investigation, officers were shown screenshots of Facebook Messenger conversations that appeared to originate from an account bearing McCullough’s name and a person who identified herself as 15 years old.
The messages included discussions about age and sexual topics, along with requests for photographs. McCullough requested law enforcement involvement and consented to officers taking custody of his cellular phone.
A preliminary review of the device allegedly revealed additional material unrelated to the original complaint. Investigators then sought and obtained search warrants to conduct a more detailed forensic examination of the phone and other electronic devices.
Court records state that on December 10, 2025, a LaPorte Police Department SWAT team was deployed to a residence in the 500 block of Lawrence Street to secure the location prior to the execution of a search warrant. The residence was cleared before investigators entered. McCullough was detained and transported to the LaPorte Police Department while the search was carried out, and electronic evidence was seized.
According to the affidavit, investigators later located multiple images depicting minors engaged in sexual conduct. The images allegedly involved multiple victims of varying ages, including an infant under two years old, a young child between five and seven years old, and juveniles approximately 14 to 16 years old.
During questioning, McCullough admitted to communicating with someone he believed to be 15 years old and requesting photographs. He told investigators he did not know how certain images came to be on his phone, stating no one else had access to the device and that he did not remember downloading or saving the images.
