Hammond Man Charged With Multiple Felonies After Cocaine Investigation

Tyrone Lavell Green, 43, of Hammond, is facing multiple felony charges following a drug investigation conducted by the Hammond Police Department.

According to court documents, investigators conducted a drug investigation in February and March of 2026 involving Tyrone Green. Court documents state drug transactions involving Green were recorded during the investigation.

Police later obtained a search warrant for a residence in the 6000 block of Hohman Avenue in Hammond. The warrant was executed on March 3, 2026. Court documents state Tyrone Green was taken into custody after being observed exiting the residence and was also found to have an active dealing in cocaine warrant in Lake County.

During the search, investigators located a .380 caliber Ruger handgun on a bedroom table. Police also located 95 individually packaged baggies containing a rock-like substance that field-tested positive for cocaine with a combined weight of approximately 71.5 grams, which authorities say is considered possession with intent to deliver under Indiana law.

Investigators also confirmed through criminal history records that Green had a prior conviction for Manufacturing/Dealing in a Controlled Substance in Cook County, Illinois in 2018, which classifies him as a serious violent felon under Indiana law.

• Dealing in Cocaine; Possession with Intent — Level 2 Felony

• Dealing in Cocaine — Level 3 Felony

• Dealing in Cocaine — Level 4 Felony

• Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon — Level 4 Felony

• Maintaining a Common Nuisance — Level 6 Felony

• Dealing in Cocaine — Level 5 Felony (2 counts)

• Dealing in Marijuana; Possession With Intent, Between 30g–10lbs, Prior Drug Conviction — Level 5 Felony
