Hammond Man Charged After Drug Deals Lead To Arrest Warrant
Robbie Douglas Ramirez, 52, of Hammond, is facing multiple felony charges after investigators allege fentanyl drug deals led to a search warrant being executed at a residence, where additional drugs, cash, and suspected dealing materials were discovered.
According to court documents, the investigation into fentanyl distribution took place in March 2026 in Lake County.
Police allege that during the week of March 2, Ramirez sold approximately 0.4 grams of fentanyl during a drug deal inside a residence in the 6800 block of Carolina Street in Hammond. The substance later tested positive for fentanyl.
Investigators allege a second drug deal occurred during the week of March 9, where Ramirez again sold approximately 0.4 grams of fentanyl inside the same residence in the 6800 block of Carolina Street in Hammond. That substance also tested positive for fentanyl.
Based on those drug deals, a search warrant was executed at the residence in the 6800 block of Carolina Street on March 25, 2026.
Inside the home, officers located Ramirez, who identified himself at the scene. Investigators reported finding two digital scales with residue that tested positive for fentanyl, approximately $1,000 in U.S. currency, plastic baggies with the corners cut, and prescription pill containers containing a green leafy substance. The substance weighed approximately 16.5 grams and tested positive for marijuana.
Court records further indicate Ramirez had a prior conviction for dealing in a narcotic drug in Lake County in 2020.
Lodged in the Lake County Jail.
