Dan Ryan Expressway Shooting
Chicago, IL – Illinois State Police (ISP) officials are investigating a shooting which occurred on Monday, March 16, 2020 at approximately 6:20 p.m. on Interstate 94 northbound at 87th Street.
ISP officers were notified by a local area hospital of two victims involved in a shooting that occurred on Interstate 94 northbound at 87th Street. Upon arrival to the local area hospital, ISP officers interviewed four (4) victims who were traveling in the same vehicle. The driver, 18 year old female, did not sustain any injuries; one male passenger, 18 year old male, received minor injuries due to glass shatter and the remaining two male passengers, both 17 years old, sustained non-life threatening injuries due to the gunfire.
All lanes were closed at I-94 northbound at 87th Street at 7:20 p.m. for an investigation; all lanes reopened at 9:50 p.m. The incident remains under investigation and no further information is available at this time.
