Violent Night In Gary Leaves 2 Dead And At Least Two Others Shot
Around 10:40pm Sunday Gary Police responded to numerous calls of ongoing shots fired occurring in a 10 minute window near 11th & Clark area. While searching the area police were called to the 1100 block of Williams for a man down. On arrival to the victim Police found him unresponsive. The Lake County Coroner has identified this victim as Ernest Millard III, 38, of Gary. Coroner states Millard suffered multiple gun shot wounds in a homicide. Shortly after this another gun shot victim walked in to Northlake Methodist around 11:30pm who claims he was shot on Williams St as well.
At 11:56pm Gary Police responded to 4113 MLK Drive for a gun shot victim who was shot in the back. Gary Fire Department transported him to Methodist and Police were searching the area for one other possible victim who might have been shot.
At 1:02am Monday Gary Police responded to 45th & Broadway at the Save Gas Station for a shooting. On arrival police found about 15 shell casings at the gas station. Police found a blood trail at the gas station and followed it to 46th & Broadway where police found a male shot to death. The Lake County Coroner has identified the victim as Dion Clayton, 27, of Gary.
