Update On Tuesday’s Double Homicide In Gary
The Lake County Coroner has identified both victims in Tuesday’s shooting where two men were discovered killed in an SUV near 13th & Grant.
Victim 1 has been identified as Trevion Hudnell, 19, of Gary. Victim 2 has been identified as Phillip Phillips, 20, of Gary. Both victims sustained gun shot wounds, Lake County Coroner said.
Tuesday at approximately 11:38 am, the Gary Police Department responded to the 1300 block of Grant Street in regards to a possible robbery with two individuals shot, Lt. Dawn Westerfield of the Gary Police said in a release. Upon arrival it is was discovered the event occurred at a different location. At this time it appears to be an isolated incident, Police said. This is the city of Gary’s 21st Homicide this year, according to Gary Police Chief Ligon who spoke to the media in a press conference yesterday evening addressing violence in the city.
